About me

I was curious about powerlifting and what competitions were like. At the time, a lot of people would tell me that I should try to compete because they saw potential in me so I decided to give it a go!

Best sporting moment

The 2022 APU Nationals really solidified my place as a top lifter and I was able to show why I deserved to be there.

ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT

What does your competition day look like (Do you have a pre-comp ritual or superstitions)?
Before a comp, I like to watch videos that inspire and motivate me. Sometimes I'll re-watch my favourite performances from lifters I like!
What is the most important mental aspect of your training and competing?
I give absolutely 100% in everything I do because if I don't, I'm only cheating myself. Also, acknowledging that time is valuable and limited. Sometimes it's good to have a sense of urgency to keep us on track and remind us where we want to be.
Who are your role models and why?
Other than my parents, I don't really have any role models but I have become someone that I'm truly proud of - and that came from years and years of working on myself and my mentality. I hope to continue to make my future self proud. I do have favourite lifters though - Jonathan Cayco and Natalie Richards to name a few!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start in the sport?
Start now because my only regret in this sport is not starting earlier. That's why I work like I have a clock on me. I can't change yesterday, but I can make the most of today so that I can have a better tomorrow.
What are your plans and goals for the future in your sport and generally?
To keep pushing the boundaries because we're not even close to unlocking our full potential.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the gym/sport?
Full-time work and training honestly take up most of my life, with very little spare time for me to do anything else. However, I do enjoy spending time with loved ones whether it is watching a movie or going out for a nice meal.
